Have you ever had the experience that asking people directly is more helpful than asking Google when you have a problem? I think this is the reason why we need a way to ask question to someone who's familiar with your question. From my prospective, there are two reasons people would ask other people rather than google it. The first reason is it takes lots of time and effort to figure out whether the search results can solve their problem, so they would like to ask people who are familiar with their question directly rather than searching on Google. And the other reason is people can't find the answer they want on Google, so they have to ask other people.
