What school taught me : - Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell. - Calculus - Pythagoras’ theorem - How to draw the Indian Map What I wish was taught in school: - Taxes - Networking - Personal Finance - Negotiations What do you think you should have been taught?
To be fair, we say a lot of "this should've been taught in school," but let's be honest - how many of us would've paid attention in class if they were taught? Probably a handful. I say this from experience. Our school really tried to include real-life teachings - taxes, shares, investments, etc. but nobody wanted to learn those. Students found those boring. parents complained that they were wasting time on "unnecessary topics" and that our students were falling behind the students of other schools in "essential subjects." So yeah, the grass is greener, etc., etc. However, in an ideal world full of ideal students, I'd definitely like to see financial and legal education. I'd like to see more hands-on practical knowledge rather than old books.
