for absolute basics, like right when i was getting started, i pretty much just followed along with stry's beginner amv tutorials (https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXPkGpOohxXz0s58s1fqH5WyhEc2lkCNn&si=_jcpIEm97AUmrn7W) which really helped when i started learning AE tbh. i also think there are so many creative styles within the anime editing community so it's a pretty good place to get some inspo from! i would also recommend Shea's tutorials on yt! i think he goes really in depth about the whole creative process and what you could do within AE, plus some basics too. even if you're not using AE, there are some good points to learn by watching AE tutorials anyway, that way you can apply it to whatever editing software you use. from there, you can actually go a long way just watching other great editors and their edits which is what i'm currently still doing! hoping to be as good as them some day :) plus remaking edits is something i always encourage from time to time because i think it truly helps with practice (ofc don't forget to come up with your own ideas too!) as for resources, i don't have too many to recommend, other than scenepacks which i get from 411's scenepacks.com (they're always in such high quality). and youtube is a really good place for finding overlays. also i use (https://spotidownloader.com/en19) to download songs from spotify lol. i also don't really have presets to recommend because i think you should experiment and figure out how different effects work before going straight into presets. also i'm just too lazy to make them . . . my process isn't really anything impressive if i'm being honest. i kind of just watch a bunch of cool edits, get a little inspired, listen to a nice song and then i pretty much wing it in AE so there's not really any storyboarding involved lol. that being said, i don't go into making an edit fully blind, i usually do have some sort of an idea before i start one, but naturally as we all work, we come up with different ideas in the process, so it really just depends on what you're making or feeling, what your ideas are, what you can execute, and just playing it by ear (or in this case by your eyes). anyway thank you for asking! hope i helped somewhat :)
