If you could go back in time and give yourself one piece of advice when you were just starting out in your career, what would it be and why?

How do you think following that advice would have impacted the path you have taken in your professional life?

That’s a pretty simple question to answer for me personally. I’ve always been open-minded, but I’ve also always been so busy I would have to ignore and/or sacrifice certain things or people. That being said, I would have run my businesses instead of let them run me. I would have created the time to listen to people that offered solutions, and I would have advised myself that if I’m not making changes consistently to improve personally and within whatever business ventures I was involved, START DOING IT NOW! I would advise myself to create a business model that is sustainable if I’m not available to work. Life happens, and I was severely injured one time and wasn’t available to run the business day-to-day operations for a while. I lost it all, and it was tough! That experience taught me that you must have a self-sustainable business model or you’re risking everything. So, my advice to everyone that runs their own business, ask yourself what would happen if you couldn’t show up for a month? Would your business survive? Would you still have revenue coming in? How much? Something to think about…. Great question!
