What are your long-term career goals and how do you plan on achieving them?

For me, my long-term career goal is to become a senior manager at a leading tech company. To achieve this goal, I plan on continuing to learn and develop my skills in the field through education and professional development opportunities. I also plan on networking with industry professionals and seeking out mentors to guide me on my career path. Additionally, I am committed to consistently delivering high-quality work and building a strong reputation within the industry. I believe that by focusing on these areas and setting clear goals for myself, I will be able to achieve my long-term career aspirations. Does it make sense? And what about yours?

Hi Henry, yes, it makes sense. I don't have as detailed a plan as you. Not because I haven't made one or haven't thought about it, but because my approach is to make decisions as they come up, or change jobs when they no longer feel meaningful. I've followed my intuition this far, and I am happy with my career. Even the decisions I made that took me for a "detour" (or seemed like they did) have ended up mostly helping me in some way, even if they helped me figure out what I don't want to do. Of course I have goals--right now I am focused on learning d3.js because I would like to do more editorial data visualization or data journalism in the future, and d3 is the skill that will land me those gigs.
